What is “Meadow” Tea?
Meadow Tea is not really tea but is a unique drink that earned its name because it is brewed like tea but with a type of mint that grows wild in meadows throughout Pennsylvania. It’s especially popular in Lancaster County.
The Pennsylvania Dutch collect fresh mint from the meadow, typically spearmint or peppermint, and steep it for hours, sweeten it to taste, and serve it over ice.
