Class A CDL Drivers
When one wants to drive professionally, the Class A CDL is generally the license pursued because it allows for more opportunities that pay on a higher scale. The license also requires greater skill and the ability to operate more vehicles, and typical jobs for these license holders involve long distance hauls and infrequent home time.
A Class A CDL license allows drivers to operate conveyances with a weight of 26,001 pounds or greater. Special endorsements can be added to your license for hazardous material hauling or tanker operations. We use refrigerated, stainless steel tankers to deliver our milk at the peak of freshness, so our drivers must have a tanker endorsement.
Class B CDL Drivers
A Class B CDL driver is able to operate a conveyance that weighs more than 26,001 pounds with no trailer. These drivers usually choose a more limited license because they intend to stay close to home, running delivery routes. We employ drivers with this license to deliver our bottled beverages to grocers and convenience stores with routes running daily. Our customers extend across Eastern Pennsylvania to Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, NYC, and Long Island. You can expect to work hard, but you can also expect fair compensation and a respectful working environment.
What We Require of Clover Farms Truck Drivers
- 21 years old (We do encourage younger applicants since we require a training period.)
- Positions for both Class A and Class B CDL holders (Class A positions will require a tanker endorsement.)
- Will submit to a company-given road test
- Experience not required, but it is preferred
- Experience driving compound vehicle in all sorts of weather required
- Present a clean MVR, Motor Vehicle Record
- Should comply with professional standards for appearance and attitude
- Should pass a DOT physical, drug test, and physical ability test
- Able to operate or learn to operate a handheld device
